Chocolate Pie

| 1/2 tsp. salt | |||||||||||||||
| 1/2 cup cocoa | |||||||||||||||
| 3 cups milk | |||||||||||||||
| 3 egg yolks, beaten | |||||||||||||||
| 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla | |||||||||||||||
| 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter | |||||||||||||||
2 (9 inch) baked pie crusts

Meringue Recipe
| 3 egg whites | |
| 1/8 tsp cream of tartar | |
| 1/4 cup sugar | |
| 1 tsp. vanilla | |
| pinch of salt | |
| In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff | |
| Add the sugar, vanilla and salt, beating until well mixed and stiff | |
| Spread on the pies and seal to the crust | |
| Bake at 350 degrees until browned |
